Sometimes we need a little help to get a story off of the ground
so it can spread its wings....and fly!
Below are a few resources that can help you get started.
(And remember...BE CONFIDENT. You can do this!
Focus on the ideas of your story as this is the most exciting part of writing. Grammar and spelling can always be checked on later.
Story Elements
Start off with some simple story elements and your story will flow from there. You can download a printable copy here.
Character - Who is your lead character? What age are they? Do they have a job? Are they an animal? What is their personality ?
Setting - Where does it take place? On earth, in a fantasy world, in space, what is the weather, what country?
Conflict - What goes wrong? Is there something the main character wants to achieve?
Resolution - How do they solve the problem? Are they changed after the solution?
Personal Experiences
You can use your own life experiences as inspiration. Here are some ideas
Your first day at school.
A time when you were a good friend.
A sports team you play with.
When someone else helped you.
A trip you made with a friend.
Something you are proud of.
A scary experience you had.
What experiences you have that are different.
A story about your best friend.
A birthday party experience.

Name - Names say a lot about a person. What is their name?
Draw them - We make a lot of choices when we draw. This a great way to see your character.
Questions - Answer a few simple questions and you will then really understand who they are
